Awards
The Longhorns have won numerous awards, and all of them are listed on this page. Newest awards are displayed first. For older awards, click here.
2009 World Championship Winning Alliance
This award is given to all three teams of the winning alliance. We received this award at the 2009 World Championships in Atlanta along with our alliances: 679 Roboraiders, and 92 Jr. Bomb Squad. It took us seven hard-fought eliminations to defeat, 1st and 2nd ranked alliances in the Edison division, along with the winning Franklin alliance. This award is one of the highest awards given at a competition, and makes us and our alliance the best of 1000 FTC teams.
2009 BC Regionals Inspire Award
The Inspire Award is given to a team who best embodies all of FIRST’s core values, and serves as a prime example of the spirit of the competition. A team who wins the Inspire award must perform in the areas of robot performance, engineering notebooks, teamwork, gracious professionalism, and the promotion of FIRST in their community. The Inspire is the highest award that a team can receive, and we were honoured with this award at the 2009 British Columbia regional competition in Burnaby, BC, meaning a guaranteed spot at the World Competition in Atlanta.
2009 BC Regionals Winning Alliance Award
This award is given to both teams of the winning alliance in robot performance. We also received this award at the BC regionals, after a challenging series of matches with many highly qualified teams. We shared this award with SHIM1 (#2857), who was our alliance partner.
The 2008 Central Alberta Robotics Tournament 3rd place award
We won this award for robot performance at the Central Alberta Robotics Tournament in Red Deer, Alberta.
